Housing Chances

I submitted my application for housing in December, but recently found a roommate. Today we changed our room preferences to dorms in the Commons. She put roommate over hall preference and I put hall over roommate. How likely is it that we'll live in the Commons next year since we applied so late? And if not, does anyone have an idea of where they'll put us?

You have to put exactly the same dorm choices in order to room together. You both must choose roommate over hall and name each other. I think you still have time to switch it.

Very bad chances. Commons and Modular dorms are the most popular choices and get filled up pretty fast. You’ll most likely get a Corridor, maybe a Balcony if you’re lucky.

they will not put the two of you together.
You have to put the same thing - roommate first - dorm name second. I know several who tried this same trick and it will not work. The rules state roommate first, dorm second and they play hardball with the rules

Guess we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

@klparker312- You’re saying there’s no chance we’ll end up rooming together? The ResLife site Hall over Roommate preference makes it sound like we would still at least have some chance of rooming together. They only say “may not be possible” to stay together.

I’m saying I know 3 sets of friends who tried that same thing and none of them ended up together.
