Housing Concerns!

I'm verrry far back on the waitlist for housing at UO and really don't want to end up in an apartment. I would be doing society of college scholars so I would be eligible to stay in the honors house if that helps my chances? Anyone have any real knowledge about this situation? The housing people at UO were all diplomatic and just said a bunch of BS instead of actually informing me about anything.

Also, anyone know anything about the apartments? I heard the duck village one is like 95% freshman cause so many couldn't get housing this year.

The honors dorm isn’t so much a whole specific building, as I understand it. The students who opt for it are clustered together in one of the residence halls (it can vary which one from year to year). So the honors dorm wouldn’t in itself necessarily have extra rooms to fill. More like, say 100 students chose that option, the housing office would cluster those 100 students together somewhere on campus. Presumably the rest of that particular residence hall would already be full… as there are only so many students they can house in the dorms.

You may get a spot in any case. Once they have confirmations in on who’s actually attending, there will be openings in housing. I bet a lot of students got their housing apps in VERY early this year due to the housing crunch, even if they are not all that likely to attend.

I don’t know about Duck Village. You may want to post here and ask:
[UO people](http://community.livejournal.com/uoregon/)

More UO students post there than do here on College Confidential.

I’m a transfer student and applied for the wait list but I have been looking into other options. I heard that most people go into either Duck’s Village or Stadium Park Apartments or the other options can be found around campus. I don’t think it will be a problem since I heard 90 % of students are off campus but I know as a freshman you would want the dorm experience.

Here are a few websites that might be helpful for apartments
