<p>I'm coming to Bloomington from New Zealand for an exchange in the fall semester. I don't know anyone in Indiana, so I'm struggling to find information relevant to housing. I would prefer to live on-campus, but IU seem to make it quite impractical to rent housing for just one semester of study (I think that there is a breakage fee)? The alternative is off-campus housing, but unless you are willing to purchase a 12 month lease, it is hard to find accommodation unless you have roommates.</p>

<p>If you have an IU username and password then login to onestart and look under classifieds. In classifieds you’ll find tons of people who need sublets for fall semester.</p>
<p>I have a login and am able to access Onestart, however I cannot find the classifieds section (even after using the search bar). Perhaps I will be able to access this feature later down the line?</p>
<p>If you’ve not already been in contact with the Office for International Services, you should do so. They may have some suggestions for your situation. </p>
<p>This link on their website explains the housing options. I do think the breakage fee would be far less than a year long lease. It’s far more common for students to look for first semester only housing. Finding some one to take over the lease second semester is a risk. Few landlords in Bloomington have short term leases. </p>
