I recently accepted my admission to UT and was wondering how long does it take for them to offer me a housing contract? I'm trying to get my housing application in as soon as possible to try and ensure that I get my first choice. I paid my $200 enrollment deposit last Sunday, so I just wanted to know how long it usually takes for them to offer a housing contract after you pay your enrollment fee? Thanks!

The $50 dollar fee you paid in you general admissions application is what is used for your place in the housing queue, not the housing contract.

Thanks. But do you know around when they will give me a contract? Because isn’t that where you pick your preferences?

Beginning in November per:
[Housing Contract | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/housing/contract)

The preferences and roommate matching will be on a website all the way up to May or something and you’ll be able to change it as many times without consequence up until then. Once they’ve finish looking through all general applications they’ll finally come around and start assigning rooms during the Summer. As long as you pay your bills, everything you could have done to affect your preferential room placement has already been done.

Thanks! That really answered my questions.
