Housing Contract

So I just did the housing thing online and I submitted it but theres a bold read message that says
"Please note that your status, below, will read "Not Complete" until you have signed your housing contract."

Does this mean I forgot to fill something out, or that I have to wait to get my room assignments first.

On the To Do list if you expand the Housing application option, it says:

“You will receive notification in mid-June from the Housing and Dining Contracts Office with your housing assignment and contract signing instructions. Make sure you have activated your NetID and Cornell email address so that you don’t miss out on housing information.”

so you’re right, goricking, to think that you need to wait until you receive your room assignment.

Goricking, that’s what all of us got. No cause for worry.

so does it say not complete for everyone who submited the housing forms online?

Yes, that’s what I said.

Mine says complete, I think only because I did house lottery and I signed my contract right then and there

^well it’s totally different for you because you’re already a student here. the people above are incoming freshmen and so they would have nothing to do with the housing lottery. (I’m sure you knew this but your post could be confusing…)

The lottery for incoming freshmen is after May 1st, which is why our applications are ‘not complete’.

well, for freshmen, it’s not so much of a lottery as just an assignment…in the future you’ll get a random time slot and it’s much more a matter of chance/strategy where you end up living. it does end up feeling like a (rather unfair at times) game.

your May 1st date is of course correct, though. :)

By the way faustarp, does applying for a single more or less guarantee that I’ll get one? I hear there are quite a few.

I am not going to say 100% guarantee, but I know that every year there are people assigned to singles who would have preferred doubles, so if you actually want a single, I think there is a very high likelihood you’ll get one.
