Housing Deadline

Cornell's website says freshmen undergrads can start applying for housing on April 1st. Is this a first come first serve basis? Many of us won't even find out if we were accepted until the day before. SIR isn't due until May 1st, do we have to decide a month early to get a good dorm room? Will all the singles be taken if we don't sign up on the first day?

Anyone know anything about this?

It looks like the housing application period is between April 1 and May 1. There does not seem to be a priority system? A lot of questions are answered here

but I wonder too, if there is any priority given to applications that come in closer to April 1?

There's no priority system. Housing applications that are submitted later hold the same weight as applications that are submitted earlier.

Do they give you a survey that you fill out to decide where you go, or is it completely random? If I request a single, there's no way I'll be put in Donlon, right?

there are a few singles in donlon, just not as many as there are in clara dickson
