I'm enrolling at umd and i have to choose a housing style. The options I'm between are mixed gender or single gender residence halls but I'm confused as to what the difference is. I put mixed gender thinking it would just be boy-girl-boy-girl rooms but now I'm freaking myself out thinking I accidentally signed up for dorms where guys and girls can room together. Out of those two options which style living is better or more popular? I hope I'm making the right decision and ialso want some clarification on the kind of housing so I know what I'm getting into. Thanks!

I’d like to know this too! HELP! (good question!)

Here is a link that will be helpful: [Room Selection: Mixed Gender and Gender Inclusive Housing](http://www.reslife.umd.edu/roomselection/mixedgenderhousing/)

Mixed gender is not rooming together. the actual rooms are all the same sex, but they alternate. so room# 1 is for males, room# 2 is for females and so on.
