If anyone could help me out/offer me any advice, that would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to be a junior, and unfortunately, I've just had terrible luck with the housing system at Michigan. I was supposed to live in honors housing, but freshmen year, I made the stupid decision to live elsewhere (bad decision), which (again due to a number of reasons) prevented me from living there again my second year. I feel like I've missed out on the "freshmen" year and the whole college experience. Especially since I've met/are friends with many of the honors kids, I really REGRET not living in south quad.

Now that I'm going to be a junior - I really don't know what to do. I would LOVE to live in south quad or north quad but the registration date's already passed. I don't want to live in an apartment and I considered co-ops, but all of them are leased out as well.

The only thing I CAN think of is housing contract reassignment. I've found a girl living in north quad who wants to directly give me her contract (which is totally feasible). Except one thing: only NEWLY admitted students can take them (which I'm not).

Sorry if this is overly excessively long, but I'm kind of freaking out for housing next year! Should I try to "battle" it out with housing and get an exception for reassignment or something? I REALLY don't want to pay 10 grand for "left over" places on north campus (which is what they'll currently give me). Has anyone gone through something as similar as this? Please let me know and thanks for the help!
