Housing Dilemma

My daughter is waitlisted w/599 other applicants. We heard a rumor there would be no housing available for her. Anyone know if there’s truth to that rumor? And how’s the off-campus apartment scene for freshman?

according to another thread, everyone that was accepted by Cal Poly will get housing

Housing - even for freshman - at CP SLO is a problem. Last year, those freshman who were on the ball and registered for on campus housing the FIRST day it was available (actually before the open house - something like April 15 - check your letters and emails) got in. The kids who waited until the second day did NOT get in. They said it was full by noon the second day. At open house there were TONS of kids who were trying to get in off-campus housing. Mustang Village etc. had booths set up for those who didn't have housing yet. It works out...but it's not as convenient and it's more expensive off campus.
Try to get in on-campus housing the first year as it really helps you meet other freshman and make friends.

Now there is the new Poly Canyon Village for sophomores, but lots of those kids didn't get in the lottery either and now they're scrambling for off-campus housing for next year. Expensive too!
