I got accepted to IU and applied to Collins LLC in February. I got the thing that said I was accepted into Collins LLC but not the housing for that yet, I guess we find that out in May or something.

Anyway, I was wondering what my chances are of getting my first choice and being accepted to Collins for housing. From what I found out, there are a lot more people that apply there than they have space. Is applying for housing mid February kind of late?

And to be honest I was on the border about whether I should go to U of I or Indiana, but Collins kind of stood out and made me want to choose Indiana as odd as that sounds. I was wondering if I get don't get accepted for that dorm if I could switch or something? I don't know.

So, chances of getting this dorm? I only heard from one person that their was a lot of people that applied for it so I'm not sure. Is mid february kind of late?

The vast majority of people make their college decision in late April–so I’m guessing that if you applied for Collins LLC in February, you will probably get in. I think you should write to dstark, however, since I believe he has been in Collins LLC before–and therefore would probably have a more informed opinion on this than the rest of us.

do all llc acceptances get notified this early? i applied for kelley llc and an academic community on the first day housing was posted online, will i know in april or sooner?

I got a letter in the mail about a week or two after I applied to Collins LLC that said I got accepted. Housing though I know is different, and I guess you could be accepted into the LLC and not the housing and I know we find out housing stuff mid May. That’s really all I know, which probably is the same amount you know. When were housing stuff first posted?

You can still get into Collins, sometimes they will put you on a waitlist if their are not enough spaces. However, I applied last year to Collins early MAY and I was put on the waitlist and eventually got a spot in a triple. I did email Yara Cluver though (i think she handles the admissions and placement into Collins), emphasizing my interest in living at Collins, so maybe you can give that a shot. To be honest, there’s nothing that special about Collins, except for its convenience to academic buildings and…its pretty.

The people in it seemed to be of shared interest which was an appeal, especially when the roommate for for IU didn’t ask any lifestyle questions when it comes to pairing up roommates.
