Housing/Dorms Question

My housing reply due date is March 10, 2008. Is there any advantage to applying sooner or later, as long as I complete it before 3/10? (For example, would doing it today be any better than March 5th?)

I paid my “priority housing” $30 back in July. Am I (basically) guaranteed my first choice?

Are there any dorms that I should avoid? I have heard lots of advantages of different dorms, but was wondering if anyone had bad experiences with a certain place.

Thanks! Anything anyone can contribute will be great, and go gators.

I'm pretty much like you. I applied as soon as the applications came online last summer and sent in my deposit right away. My date is March 10th also and as I understand it as long as we send in our 200.00 deposit by March 10th we're fine. The reason I don't think it makes any difference about tomorrow or next week is that it says you have up to May 1st to amend your housing requests. That is if you decide you like one dorm over another and want to change your mind from your original request. I think that they start placing us May 1st in the order of our housing date deadline which for you and I is March 10th. I hope this makes sense.

This was answered in another thread, but I will answer it again here.

No its doesn't matter. Just get it in by 3/10. (I think its postmark date that matters)

You will have a good shot at you first choice, but if you put your roommate as your highest priority the they change you priority date to the one with the latest date.

Cant think of any. I just want to say Buckman and Thomas are NOT that bad (except summer). Many return for another year.

If you are in the Honors program do you get Hume for sure if you request it? How about if your requested roommate is also in the Honors program?

No. Depends on how high you priority date is.

Not sure, but I think its possible.
