Housing During Orientation

Do we stay in the same residence hall as we got assigned for the fall semester or do they assign us a random res. hall?

Do all parents stay in separate dorms?

Thanks for any answers. :)

Random halls, I think the parents are in a separate dorm. For instance, I stayed in New during orientation, though I was assigned to Marks for fall, and my roomate during orientation had her mom there, though she was in a different hall than us. I'm not sure whether that was automatic or whether they chose to stay separately though. There are fewer Orientation Advisors than there are Residential Advisors, so there are fewer halls available for orientation.

Everyone stays in New/North for orientation (inlcuding the parents!)

Ah crap. That means no parties. :/

Haha... Yeah, the OA's dont really appreciate drinking or smoking (pot) at orientation... Its been done before, though.

"that means no parties :/"

Speak for yourself !! We parents are more than capable of figuring out how to have parties despite being in dorms with RA's. Ah, the value of knowledge and experience . . . . .

The parents weren't in the same area as the students, don't worry. I never saw one when I was there.

last year, all the parents stayed in Birnkrant. However, many choose to just stay in a hotel for the night.
