I believe that the Focus Progam clusters its students in their dorm housing. But does anyone know whether I can have a "single" dorm room and still participate in one of the various Focus clusters? I can't seem to find that answer.

I think you can...at Blue Devil Days when I was being shown around by one of the students he took me to his dorm and showed me all his Focus cluster classmates, and one of them had a single.

Oh that is encouraging. Does anyone else have some further knowledge?

Having a single and being in FOCUS have nothing to do with each other. Your odds of getting a single won't be hurt or improved.

pretty sure it will work out. most freshman opt for doubles anyway and singles are usually easy to get, so i wouldnt really worry.
also, being in a single wont ruin your chances of making friends. i wish i had one...

Idk, I don't think I would want my friend's single across the hall. My closet is about 2/3 the size of his entire room + closet.

it REALLY depends on what dorm youre in. i know some people with AMAZING singles. like they fit in a whole couch with PLENTY of room to spare and they didnt loft or anything. luck of the draw i guess. but most singles on east, especially, are rather decent.

I asked, and the program director told me that you can request a roommate if you are in focus (that roommate can be in your focus, in another focus, or not in a focus at all). I presume you could request a single too.
