Hi I would be attending the case western reserve university this fall ! Can anyone suggest some good on campus housing ? Also a brief description on the possibilities of off-campus housing would be great :)

Best place for upper class on-campus is The Village. It has the nicest interiors; imagine Embassy suites but with more rooms. However, as you can imagine, the cost of this is extremely expensive and can cost well over $10,000 for the whole year. And depending on your major, the location can be far from your classes, as it’s on the opposite of where most of the STEM buildings are located at.
Other on-campus options are Staley and the southside Alumni House. I don’t know why they call it the Alumni House when undergrads live there but whatever. Those two dorms are your more average-looking college dorms. They also have suites but they aren’t as nice as The Village, but they’re cheaper and closer to some classes.

There are many options for off-campus housing. The places down Hessler Street are one, but they tend to fill up rather quickly. The street can also be quite loud since that’s where a large number of parties are held at, so the atmosphere may or may not be what you want. Triangle apartments are also nice, similar to The Village and just as expensive. The downside of them is that they’re not close to any of the other on-campus housing. Houses at Southside Overlook are also pretty common for off-campus, but they’re pretty far from campus and can be extremely inconvenient. There are also some places down Fairchild/Glennon/Murray Hill that if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to rent. I don’t know much about them in terms of amenities and cost. Some people also live in the Noble apartments, which are located right around The Village, but again, I can’t say much about the quality and cost.
These are just a few examples of off-campus housing. There are plenty of other places to pick if you just browse through the surrounding areas. I just listed out some of the more popular ones.

Thanks for your insight ! I will be joining the Case school of engineering . I would prefer a rather low budget living on campus . It would be great if you could bring you list down to one or two . Thanks in advance !

I recommend Alumni or Staley. Livable quarters if you don’t mind no air conditioning, which you really don’t need after a few weeks.

Thanks a lot :)
