I was accepted into UCLA as an appeal student and immediately afterwards I filed an application for housing. It is now late August and I still have not been offered housing. I am very worried as to what to do right now. I will be a first year student and I do not have contacts/friends at UCLA, so off-campus housing will be hard to find. Also, as a first year student I do not have the funds for off-campus housing. I am so worried right now. What should I do?

Hey - I am a student at UCLA (not an undergrad, though), so I don't know how much help I'll be. Was housing guaranteed for incoming undergrads (ie is housing required?). For me, graduate housing was guaranteed, so I just have to apply and then eventually they'll have a spot open before my classes started. So I think you should try to either 1) call the admissions office and explain your situation, and they'll definitely help you out, or 2) open up a thread on My Housing on the UCLA housing site and just ask your question. From my experience, the housing people are not as helpful as admissions. Classes start for you around 2-3 weeks, right? I applied for housing during early June, and they gave me my housing mid-July for move-in on early August, but this is grad housing, but it should both be the same anyway. Good luck! Let me know if you need any help (I was an undergrad a year ago!).
