I’m getting my Masters of Education, specializing in Leadership and Administration. I know it’s not what you’d expect at Cal Poly, and I haven’t come across a single person online who is also in the education school. Who knows, maybe I’m the only one

And you unfortunately can’t request to be housed with grad students. Cal Poly actually explicitly states this in the housing process, that they can’t guarantee you will be housed with other graduate students. When I read that, I was thinking, “Oh, they must mean there will be undergraduates in the apartment BUILDING.” I wasn’t crazy about the idea of freshmen throwing parties on my floor, but I guess I could deal with it. Now that I know the apartments are 4 bedrooms, I realize they meant “We can’t guarantee you will be housed with graduate students in YOUR APARTMENT.” I don’t know how many grad students live on campus but I hope they would at least try to place people together. The Housing department seems very nice and accommodating. They are already letting me move in two weeks early for classes, I don’t want to be a pain in the neck and complain about roommates!

Does Cal Poly let you know ahead of time who your roommates are going to be? Or is it kind of just a surprise on move-in day?
