Does anyone know when housing stuff comes out (roommates, dorm building) for incoming freshman this fall? I saw something somewhere about August 18. Can anyone confirm?

When I checked my housing status a while ago it said august 12 at 8:00 a.m.

Yes, it is frustratingly late in the summer. You’ll want to keep checking the ResLife site…
They’ll update the “hot topics” with assignment and move-in information later in the summer.

^That being said, don’t expect to get your roommate or dorm info any sooner than they say it’ll be posted.

if i decide live off the compus, do i have to comtact the office???/

YES. Otherwise they will directly add the cost of housing to your university bill. In her freshman year, D had a roommate who had decided against UMD in the summer. I don’t know if she didn’t tell ResLife separately from the office of admissions or what, but it took a while for them to get things straightened out and D was in roommate limbo for about 3 weeks.

I am new to College Confidential. My oldest Daughter is a rising Junior at Univ of Maryland. SHe secured an apartment for next year with two other girls. Now one of the girls has backed out. This apartment is a great find as it is close to campus. The plan is for three girls to share a two bedroom so the cost is less than the cost of the dorm and the girls would have lot more room and kitchen and den to hang out in. My daughter is in the middle of finals so I am trying to help her find a someone who might be interested in living in an apartment close to campus without being in the dorm. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how I can help her find a third roommate? My email is cindy_may@bellsouth.net. Appreciate any help CC can provide.

Does anybody know if freshman will get into Oakland ?

How do you check your housing status and see that date? (august 12 at 8:00 a.m.)??

Freshman will not get into Oakland; there is zero chance. Most rising sophmores couldn’t either.

I don’t exactly remember I think it was some weeks ago. I was checking my housing status and I was clicking one of the tabs and it was like info for housing will be available august 12th at 8:00 a.m. I checked the status recently and the only tabs that are there now are the summary tab and the employment tab. I remember there being a third tab about two weeks after I requested housing.
