Housing for older students?

I am 23 now but will be 24 upon entering UCI (if I'm accepted!) as a transfer.

I know that I can get housing in the normal areas for Fall 2008, but according to the UCI website, when I turn 25 right before my senior year, my only on-campus option will be Verano Place.

Does anyone here have any experience there? What's the community like? The activities? I'd like to get the "college experience" as I've only commuted to CCCs in the past.

bumppppppp

I don't think you'll get the "college experience" in Verano Place. As far as I know a lot of grad students and students with families live there so it probably isn't very lively. If you're starting in Fall 2008 I'd live in Vista del Campo or Vista Del Campo Norte for the 08-09 year as they do have limited space for transfers and sometimes even put you in their grad student units. VDC is mostly second years with some transfers and will give you more of the college experience. I'm living in the dorms and will be living in VDC next year and it looks like a really cool place to live that's actually very nice for college housing. VDC is going to be the closest thing you'll get to the dorm experience. Maybe you meet some people at VDC and live with them off campus 4th year? But try and get VDC for this coming year.
