Housing for UW or wait for UM?!

I got deferred at UM and its my top choice but I also got into UW and I would go there if i don't get into UM. but the problem is that i dont find out until end of april if i get in and if i wait i'll get ****ty housing for UW! what should i do!!?? im really stressing about this!

I wouldnt count on UM

chiiilll out yo. the same exact thing happened to me back in december (deferred from UM, my #1 choice)... just fill out the housing info for UW, send in your 50 bucks. if you decide not to go to Madison you get your money back. no reason to freak out. it says so in the housing information.

As far as I understand it you only have 2 weeks to get your housing information in to UW. The date should be posted on your housing packet. It's also a random lottery so you have equal chances at any dorm. As long as you get it in by the date marked you get equal chance in housing.

oh because i heard that the housing isnt guaranteed and theres this downpayment over 6 months? and which housing would you recommend? public vs private

It's not guaranteed but you won't have a chance without applying. Most get in.

I guess I did public. I have no information on private housing.

here is the information for private dorms in madison

<a href="http://www.universityhouse.com/uhmadison/%5B/url%5D">http://www.universityhouse.com/uhmadison/</a></p>

I was never informed about these opportunities but they don't look any better than public housing anyway. I'm guessing a lot of students get apartments in the Madison area as the only way you dont get your housing deposit back is if you decide to live off-campus.

i see you are from potomac. WE don't stress out in mo co.
