Question about the ND Housing form. My daughter went to Under the Dome on her ND acct to select housing preferences although their was really nothing to accept. She used her Mac with the safari browser even though it said to use netscape for mac. Now, when my husband had her use his desktop there still wasn't much to see. After clicking around it said that her "preferences had been saved". What preferences? They didn't ask a thing other than to accept or decline the housing agreement. No questions about individual habits, no dorm preferences, nothing. She finally called the Housing office and was told that there is no questionnaire at all, room mate choices are totally random. Never heard of not at least asking if someone was a smoker. Girl told my daughter that she had filled out all there was to fill out. Really? That was the most bizarre housing form ever. Did anyone else find this to be true?

It’s true. I don’t go to Notre Dame but I know everything there is to know about it and there is definitely no questionaire thing. It’s luck of the draw and totally random.

My son is now a sophomore at ND and there is no questionnaire of any kind. The student is paired with a roommate and dorm in a completely random manner. The only factor that you would have any input in is if for a medical reason you would need to be in an air conditioned dorm, etc. Then you need to provide documentation from your physician to ORL.

Smoking is not permitted in the dorms anyway along with open flames of any kind such as candles.

Our son ended up loving his dorm even though it is the oldest dorm on campus and lacks air conditioning. His roommate was OK also, but he did end up pulling in his friend from another dorm to room with him next year.
