Housing Forms are out on NYU Home, and I still have a dilemma, please help!

I still have no idea on which dorm(s) I want. I've got it down to 3 choices: Brittany, Rubin, and Hayden low-cost triple. I'll explain my reasoning and dilemma:

firstly, I have to pay for room and board myself, so cost is a concern. Thus, I didn't find payin $2k more for Weinstein and Hayden (regular), for maybe 2 weeks of A/C a year, sensible at all.

secondly, I've gotten mixed messages and comments from everyone about the rooms. Some say Brittany is run-down, the people who live in it aren't social, the security guards are nasty, etc. Then I hear it's the biggest and nicest dorms, and its very social. I've come across the same opinions about Rubin.

thirdly, hayden seems to be a favorite of everyone. But I would have to resort to a low-cost triple if I try for it. And I've seen some pictures and heard varying opinions about it being decent or too cramped, etc. Is it worth it to try for a regular double?

So, thanks for reading all that. And what are your suggestions? And if you want, please rank my choices and give your reasoning.

I live in a Brittany right now and despite the no a/c ***** of a summer, my room (a double in a 5-person suite) is bigger than a lot of doubles at other freshman dorms. It all depends on which floor you live in, really. My floor is completely anti-social; I don't know a single person's name, other than my suitemates, on my floor and I LOVE it that way. But I have friends on other floors and their floors are very very social and they do stuff together and all that jazz. Every dorm has some great rooms and some ****ty rooms so it all depends on your preference. Hayden and Weinstein are closer to campus than Rubin and Brittany (although none of the freshman dorms except for U-Hall and 3rd North are that far from campus at all). I think all low-cost housing is going to be somewhat smaller, just because it's low-cost. I know even doubles at Hayden are freaking small, just cuz they had to fit two people into what was originally a single.

Security is a ***** anywhere. We have guards who don't give a crap about anything, and we have some guards who are anal about everything.

Rubin and Hayden also have their own dining hall, whereas Brittany doesn't.

In the end, all freshman dorms suck so wherever you go, there will be ups and downs. Good luck.
