Housing Forms

....are we hearing anything anytime soon?

Late May, early June was when they said we'd start receiving mailings.

Yeah, late May/early June, then you get your assignment in August.

athena,
I read that you work in the housing office. How hard is it for me to get a single?

To get a single as a freshman?
It's really random.

are we allowed to request a roommate?

Good question. Also, if we have a reason for REALLY not wanting to be in the River, for example I get cold easily because I'm iron-deficient and would not like to have to walk further to get to class/everything than necessary, and we write that on the form, will it help our chances of being put somewhere else? I know it sounds like a pathetic excuse, and the natural question is why then am I going to a school in a freezing climate, but i LOVE DARTMOUTH. Is it worth a try at least? I feel like I would just never leave the dorm....

You don't get to request a roommate but you do fill out a short survey regarding your living habits (neat, early riser , quiet , etc).

Scimma, I am going to leave your question to Athena since she will be working in the first year housing office over the summer so that she can give you more insight to your request.

so if we really want a single, we have no better chance than someone who really doesnt want one bc its all random? wheres the logic in that?

why dont you want a roomate? are you antisocial?

I really want a single cause i get distracted very easily and I need some alone time every now and then. I am not a person that needs a roomate to get a close friend to bond with. also, i'm going to have wierd scheduling for practices cause from what i hear polo practices might be 10-12 at night with morning practices in the earlier hours; this could be a big inconvenience for a roommate.
