I've heard that next year, for muir at least, there will be no doubles. It will be all singles or triples. What would be the best kind of room for me? I just don't want to be crowded, because i saw my friend's triple dorm at revelle, and it was really crowded. I don't know about muir triples though. I was originally going to get a triple because i wanted to meet new people, but people have been telling me that singles are better and that you can still meet lots of new people in your suite. Also, I want a room near the top, with an ocean view so what would be the best way to get that?

I heard (i'm a current freshman) that next year the only singles will be rate savers. I heard only 600 - 700 freshmen are coming in next year so that means you guys don't need to be smashed into triples.

I would recommend getting a single. You indeed will live in suites and know your whole suite pretty well. They are basically your neighbors. And if you are outgoing you will know everyone else in yours house. Just make sure you play IMs and go to the house meetings.

As for the ocean view, I don't htink you can choose. I believe they just put you wherever and you have no say. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask for one in the survey? FYI Tenaya has Ocean view on the 7 - 8 floors. Tioga has it from 5 and up.

i see thanks. is there a way to specifically request one of those huge triples that only muir has? Thats what I want, so can i request that? I just don't want the normal triple.

No, i don't think you can choose. I'm assuming is first come first serve.. meaning the earlier you send all your housing contract/survey the better chance you will get a big triple? And how did you know Muir has big triples? I actually live in one right now in Tenaya.

someone mentioned it here on CC. so how did you get that triple? did you request a triple on your housing app or what

I requested a double. The big triples are actually the same price as regular doubles.

Oh. Well since Muir is only going to be singles and triples next year, what would happen if i put down a double on my housing app? I wanted a double, but the next best thing would be one of those huge triples.
