does anybody know when the housing info come in? will they email it or send it through the mail? thanks!

u'll know by Labor Day weekend which is coming up, a couple more days

I CAAAN'T WAAAAAAAIT, and I don't know why. hahah knowing won't change anything. but still.

it'll be coming via snail mail

oh I have a question, it might be stupid but I'm totally clueless. when do we pay for dorm fees and whatnot? do we pay a bit every quarter or do we pay one time? is this info all coming in the mail with our dorm assignments?

you pay quarterly, they're due on the 15th of october for this quarter, and the other quarters is on the 15th of some month and some month im not sure, but that info should be online, on the housing website, u can either pay at the cashier's table in the housing office at irvine, or write them a check and drop it in this box, but make sure u fill out this form with ur name and id so they'll know what this money is for, and yea whenever u write them a check, for whatever, make sure u put ur ID # on it

and what is snail mail, is that like regular mail? snail is slow right? lol

They're due 15th of September actually I think.

"The fee payment deadline is 09/15/2006. "

oh i think thats for like class fees not like housing fees, let me get the site for u

Undergraduate community residents do NOT need to make their first housing payment before moving into student housing.

Gruaduate & Family Housing residents must pay their security deposit and first month's pro-rated rent before move in.

The chart below gives due dates for each community.

Housing Community Type of Payment Payment Due Dates*
Residence Halls Quarterly October 15, January 15, April 15
Arroyo Vista Monthly 1st day of each month.
Campus Village
Academic year contracts
Year-round contracts Monthly 1st day of each month
October - June
July - June
Palo Verde and Verano Place Monthly 1st day of each month.

*There is a 10-day grace period after the due date for paying rent. Late fees are charged beginning on the 11th day.

^ ooo thank you so much for the info!!

I know we pay class fees on that ZOT site.

But then where do we pay housing fees? I thought the ZOT site included all fees while attending UCI.

nope, housing fees are separate u gotta pay on ur own after u get the fin. aid money, u pay in the cashiers place in the admin office or drop ur check in the box somewhere

My mom was wondering about this housing payment thing. Can/do they mail the bill to our HOMES? or do we have to pay on our own in person? If I have to write a check myself, my account won't have enough money

well if u receive financial aid then you should have enough to pay them, same with loans, once u have the money u can pay them, i think you have to pay on your own, it doesnt really matter right? cuz ur parents can just deposit the amount that u need into ur bank account then u should have enough to pay them

so is it okay to pay for the zot bill now? Like they aren't going to be adding any fees between now and and september 15 are they? LOL

Just making sure cause $2,164.50 is a lot...

if u have financial aid then ur zot fees should be paid automatically, if not you have until sept 15th to pay ur bills, but housing fee is not on ur zot bill, u pay separately

^ sorry for changing the subject, but why did OFAS ask for my savings/checking account number if they're going to automatically subtract the financial aid amount from my fee total? do they sometimes transfer money to accounts and sometimes subtract?

well lets say you're getting 6k in fin. aid money this quarter, so 2500 will automatically be subtracted from that 6k for class fees, so the remainder 3500 will be automatically sent to your bank account on sept 18th or 19th, if u did choose that option, then you can do whatever with that 3500, you can lie to your parents and say u didn't get anything so they'd give you money to pay for housing, then you can use that 3500 on books, transporation, personal stuff, you get what i mean.

oh okay I see now. thanks for explaining!
