So i accepted Ohio states offer a few weeks back when should i expect to get a Housing Contract.
And when I do get one do they let us pick our favorite location like North Campus or South Campus or is just a lottery system??
What is the Housing Contract pretty much. Do we have to pick a roomate etc…

I paid my acceptance fee in early March and got my contract on 4/22
You get to list 5 choices in priority but it’s still not guaranteed and also room type

I would look through what you want in a dorm. Like air conditioning, personal vs communal bathrooms, one roommate vs several etc. You should get your housing contract in june at the latest. You will have an option to request a roommate you already know or go random. You will get an option to request different styles and dorms.
Do they have questions on the application on the type of roommate like putting down hobbies or lifestyle and stuff like that or is the roommate selection process completely random if you don’t put a name down?
My friend who’s going to Michigan said their application had him put down hobbies and interests and than it recommended people who had similar applications that he could than contact and talk with.
@Leicisbest if you choose to have a random room mate you can fill out a survey that asks if you’re a morning person, night person, and other basic questions about how you would prefer to live. After that you can opt to have a random room mate selected for you, however I don’t think you contact them before hand (I could be wrong however and I suggest contacting housing about that.)
I met my frshman room mate (I’m a rising second year,) on Facebook and that was also a good way for us to feel each other out.
The questions that you are asked about your lifestyle are pretty generic (smoking, level of interest in drinking, do you expect to have visitors, would you mind having a roommate from another country). There were no questions about your hobbies or interests. But as pinkpoet notes above, you can go onto the Ohio State Class of 2020 Facebook groups and see if anyone seems like they’d be a good fit as a roommmate.
