Housing Issue

The world doesn't revolve around undergrads. We will be slightly inconvenienced for a couple of years in order to make Emory significantly better for future classes.

^^that's what I said; except with a lot more words! lol...

"None of the dorms are nearly as bad as yall make them out to be. And Woodruff is way overrated."

Well said! Very logical! I'm glad we have bright kids like you to set the rest of the emory community straight. What would emory do without rational people like you to back their questionable decisions?

You're so witty el duque. I can see that you enjoy complaining and being miserable about every decision that the administration makes just like the rest of Emory that sees fit to complain every two seconds. The world isn't perfect, and the world doesn't revolve around you. Get over yourself. My opinion is just as valid as yours.

Look dgebll, I know you're embarrassed at you're wealthy status and that you feel like you have to use ridiculous southern slang to disguise that fact, and that your mommy and daddy probably donated millions of dollars for you to come to emory just to make a fool of yourself. I'd bet you couldn't even tell me the tuition without looking it up online because it has absolutely no impact on you're family's 8 figure bank account.

Meanwhile, 40K goes a long way in my family and they're sacrificing more than you could ever know for me to be thrown in inferior dorms two consecutive years like I'm some kind of second class citizen. I know the world doesn't revolve around me, it's too busy revolving around privelaged snobs like you that put other people down for having no gratitude. So do us all a favor and keep your "valid opinions", however invalid the logic that constructs them is, to yourself.

ok. First of all, I didn't realize that eloquency of writing was a requirement for posting on this board. I apologize for my oversight. Secondly, this will be my last post on this topic. I don't mean to waste other's time with this meaniningless banter.

We have incredible facilities. Look at Candler Library, the Woodpec, Woodruff Library, the Math/Science Center, Calloway, Cox Hall, or just about any other building on campus. Now drive down to Ga State. That's what a real University looks like. Emory is a dream, and I realize that. I feel privledged to be able to go here.

When the campus master plan was approved, you hadn't begun even to apply to Emory. No one could have guessed that the class of 2011 would be overenrolled 130+ students. Emory wasn't designed to house that many UGs, so they're making due with what they have at this point. You cannot exepect them to put off construction plans years in the making because of that fact. Even if it's a little inconvenient.

My opinions are counterintuitive to your assertion of my "wealthy status." If I was that rich, wouldn't I be complaining because everything wasn't like my mansion back home? No, I don't think I am. I don't agree that the freshmen dorms are terrible at all. I've been in them, and they're about average for a college dorm. They're not as nice as the rest of campus, but the University is working on that.

I loved my freshman dorm, and I lived in Gil/Thom my second year and loved that too, even if it was - to say the least - a ****hole. Thank God they're tearing it down. But every dorm is going to have problems, no matter where you live or go to school. The Sorority Lodges, which are only a year old, had their fair share of problems. But the thing is, I would rather live in a box on the quad than in Woodruff 15 minutes from campus and across Clifton Road. Sorry, I just don't want to walk that far every day.

It saddens me that you go to the same University as I do and that you aren't even able to hold a discussion without making ridiculous accusations about my family or economic background, about which you know nothing.

Oh and by the way, I'm from the South. I'll speak how I damn well please.

I don't need documentation to know a thing or two about your economic status. You obviously have no concept of money, comparing emory's facilities with georgia state's, a school that probably cost half as much as emory. That can mean one of two things: either you have so little money that you're not used to handling it, or you have more than you know what to do with. This combined with the fact that you go to one of the most prestigious and expensive schools in the world despite your evidently flawed thought process leads me to believe you are indeed rich.

I'm disappointed emory can allow such undeserving people to attend. It only tarnishes everyone else's degree.

Oh and fyi, people do not write in dialects. So lose the act, it's not fooling anybody.

you are a hater

So it's official..

We are writing to inform you that McTyeire Hall has been changed from a first-year residence hall to an upperclass residence hall.

Hey if I were you guys I would let them make all the changes that will make the school better in the future. Dont cause problems for them.
It will only make the value of your degree from that school go way up as the school continues to excel.

k well just letting you all know, mctyeire is definitely being used for freshmen next year. i will be a freshman and i will be living there. the first 2 floors are all freshmen i believe. i dont know about the 3rd tho
