I missed the registration date and I'm a returning student. I would really like to live in the dorms (but on central campus - preferably south or north quad). I know these two are really hard to get so late in the game.

But does anyone know/have anything to suggest in terms of what I should do to get back "in" with dorms/housing?

Get on the waitlist. If you do it EARLY, you might stand a chance of getting on campus eventually. Getting on campus in a different dorm and then swapping might be easier than getting into the best dorms off the waitlist right out.

If it is closed it will reopen again in the fall, it’s open year round-- I sat on it most of last year.

I suggest you don’t leave yourself with nothing because you were holding out for a particular dorm, if you wanted it that badly you should have registered on time. Get a dorm and try to swap, don’t end up homeless.

I can always live at home, so being potentially homeless isn’t an issue. It’s just more of getting into an “okay” dorm, keeping in mind the 10 grand price tag that’s more on my mind. I’m sure the “only” dorms left over are in north campus…which, I’m not too keen on…
What would you suggest I do in this case? Thanks for the advice!

captainclutch - I don’t think so…
Well actually it depends: most of the private bathrooms are in north quad (and also Baits I believe). There’s priority (very early) registration for NQ, so yes. But regardless of when you register for housing, there’s a points-based “Lottery” system that lets you register (this is based on how long you’ve lived in dorms). So even if you register super early, if you don’t have dorm-seniority, chances are, you won’t be getting a room with a private bathroom. Unless of course, you want to live on north campus…in that case, I’m sure it’ll be likely.
