There are always a few second round rooms available. I agree it won’t be a lot though.

You might want to ask on the Rutgers Resident Knights page about doubles availability and whether or not there are any apartments left. They may still be doing rounds at Newell: someone was looking for the Newell floorplans only yesterday and first round selection was on March 5. If that is the case, people who applied for Newell and were initially rejected are still being notified of eligibility.

My son got a suite today. His group has 6 sophmores and lottery number between 100 and 200. They were lucky. ZuzuTweet, I hope you get your suite in the second round.

I still don’t understand the reverse seniority points. Who is class year 2017 with 4 points?

Because if any of these people were in an otherwise all-soph group, they automatically got into suites regardless of lottery number if the cutoff was 810/18pts.

cerps I called housing several times and they kept saying ‘we don’t know’ which is bs if you ask me. They told me to send an email but I’m sure they want it to come from a rutgers.edu account. Maybe you can email them and let us know. Try resident@rutgers.edu

‘seniority explained’ says this: **Pharmacy students should subtract 2 years from the class year, since they are in a 6 year program. This will ensure pharmacy students have the proper points. (ie, 2017 pharmacy students will actually be counted as having a 2015 class year.)

But current pharmacy freshman are grad year 2018-2 =2016. So who is getting the 4 points? Maybe they should have made grad years 2017 + 2016 both 4 points under reverse seniority.

I spoke to my son and found out that they did not get into a suite, yet. I had posted that they had 2 groups with numbers in the 100’s and in the 1000’s. Since he was in the higher group,it didn’t work out. However, he now says they recruited someone with number in the 600’s and are trying again. I am not familiar with this process, so does he stand a chance in the second round?

Karen I don’t know that you can insert people with lower numbers into your group after the first round. I thought that once the application period closed, that was it.

People should be notified for the second round sometime after the deadline for first round choosing has finished.

If he doesn’t get a suite, he should still get a double during that selection process. Last year everyone who applied for housing got it.

If he absolutely does not want to live in a double, he can check into off-campus housing. People post on that site we are not allowed to mention. Rutgers website also has a link for off-campus housing.

Doesn’t seem like the suite is going to work out. I don’t think my son is too disappointed and will probably sign up for a double. He said most people who signed up that he knew didn’t get the suite, and as twice as many sophomores signed up than in previous years. He blames the new points system.

Karensue so their number was in the 3000s and he got a double on College Ave?

Thanks for posting.

A junior just posted on Resident Knights that she got offered a single so they are still working their way through the singles, which is very surprising to me.
