Housing Lottery

Housing lottery opens in two days! How's it looking for dorm choices?

Timur don't forget

the i3 makes me very dizzy...what're your top three choices right now?

BC
Random
???

McCormick
MacGregeor(I know I spelled it wrong)
???

1) EC
2) Senior House
3) Bexley

;)

1) Simmons
2) New
3) Next

Baker, BC, Simmons

EC
EC
ec

1) Baker
2) Burton Connor
3) Senior

1)McGregor
2)BC
?????????

EC

Macgregor

Random

These dorms seem to vary tremendously. I just don't know what I'll do. Good think we'll have an opportunity to explore during REX.

Correction: thing (not think)

Baker
Burton Conner
MacGregor

Simmons
Baker
BC

Maybe? I dunno. Definately those 3, in some order... haha. I'm not stressing though -- I'll work it out when I get there.

grr... change:
1. Simmons
2. New
3. BC (Next can only be 1 or 2 b/c of RBA)

Dumb question, perhaps, but are housing and HASS-D lotteries first come first serve? Or is it completely random, as long as you get things in before the deadline (as term "lottery" would seem to imply). I still have school and graduation, and probably won't have the chance to look at MIT stuff til pretty close to the 17th.

neither: there's an algorithm for happiness involved with both.

I am thinking of East Campus or MacGregor because I want a single dorm. Are there any other dorms that offer singles to freshmen upon request? I am a social person who likes to have my own personal space and yet still be able to interact with the people in my dorm. Would MacGregor or EC fit me better? Is it true that EC kids are nerdy-crazy and do not do their hw? I also love to be organized and clean, so a clean dorm hall is nice.

To clarify what stasterisk said, each algorithm takes into account the preferences of everyone who enters them and tries to maximize the number of people who get their top choices. As long as you get your information in by the deadline, it will be considered with everyone else's preferences.

tropicalisland: ah, stereotypes abound. Hee.

EC is most definitely not clean and organized. It's a huge explosion of stuff. (It's not that it's dirty, it's just not that it's very NEAT either.)
