Oh i ranked senior house 2nd too - EC as 1st. Well though I didn't get EC, I'm pretty ok about it - will check out other dorms during rush:D Andrei, did you get a double room? I believe senior house has mainly single rooms?

I got my first choice dorm and I'm happy :0)

mit_hopefulgirl: you sound just like me last year! except once I moved in, I completely fell in looooove with senior haus and have stayed there.

elex: which room do u live in? are the carpets in sh really hard to maintain?:p

Last year I was in 233A, this year I'm going to be in 631.
The carpets are so easy to maintain! Who told you otherwise? They're this perfect mottled colors mixed so that nothing shows...

elex - what do you like about Senior House? What is its "personality?

Can someone tell me what's Baker Room 301 ??

Is it a double / triple / quad ? Does it have a nice view ?

Thank you so much...

I'm in MacGregor, but that's all I know. How do you people know your rooms? I'm terrible at keeping track of all these forms and their kin.

im at NEXT!!! :D [my 3rd choice]

n i adore my roomie :)

Hey 123, next to your Macgregor assignment it should say a letter and three numbers (ie D222). Check and see!

LMAO.... Two of my pledge bros lived in Baker Room 301 last year. It's funny that you asked about that specific room. It's a triple facing the campus. One of the smaller triples in Baker though, it has a bunk bed and one singular bed with all the desks against the wall with windows. If you have great roommates that room will be fun but there isn't much privacy. That's my take on it...

oh, silly me

Regarding to Baker 301 again...

See I have had awful experience with triples at my highschool. Now that I have gotten Rm 301, can I actually change rooms during REX ?
I thought there is another room lottery once you have confirmed to be in a particular dorm, Baker for instance.

how does one exactly choose a roommate? i dont know many of my fellow 09ers, and i believe ill only have one week to choose (until sept 2 or somethin).

wreckedexotics, i lived in baker last year, so here is how REX and in-house lottery will work for you.

REX is a time where anyone can choose to re-enter the lottery after looking around at other dorms if they want to SWITCH dorms. If you are happy with your dorm, you simply just stay in it and REX doesn't really affect anything.

As for Baker's in-house lottery, it's pretty simple and you most likely will not get the same room even if you had wanted it. You basically decide who you want to live with (if you know anyone) and together you fill out a preference sheet where it asks you to rank the type of room, location, floor, etc. Then, you submit this and later on that night the rooms are posted. Most freshman end up getting the first floor west. Other rooms are scattered and end up being triples and quads. Hope this helps.

Yeah, it's not really "can I switch rooms"... you almost certainly will switch rooms. My friend who used to be a room assignment chair always made sure freshmen switched rooms, just because a) it sets a bad precedent if you let some people stay in their temp rooms, and b) it annoys upperclassmen when freshmen are lazy and want to stay in the same room.

Quasar540, you will meet more people than you've ever cared to know at Orientation, and odds are that's how you'll pick your roommate.

wreckedexotics, you're welcome to change dorms with me... I got a quad!

Baker quads are huge and I think one of the best rooms if you have great roommates. All the guys I know in Baker quads got along fine and loved the room, I think girls are a bit more fickle and they were the ones with the most issues.

Oh, Girls! Always getting into catfights with their roommates! Us guys are so much more chill by comparison.

I know, right?

I hate girls.
