Housing Lottery

What is the range of numbers in the housing lottery? When they say the top 5% can sign back into existing housing, how many people are they talking about?

I think we are talking about at least 10,000 people – of course a bit more. Usually the best numbers are in the hundreds.

I know one person who has a number slightly above 10,000.

Mushaboom: In previous years, what was the approximate cutoff for suites housing?

My son has 774 and he’s not in the top 5%.

To Koto:

Here was last year’s results for those who were applying for Fall 2009 suite housing on Busch (source below in link): #1 through #874.

http://housing.rutgers.edu/pdfs/ruoncampus/ruoncamp_suitenumbers.pdf

My daughter and current roommate both have +3500

I know someone who has number 57 (or something really close to that).

^ Wow. That person is lucky. I have a number in the 6,000. And considering that last year I was almost put in a hotel and only had a number in the 3,000 I’m pretty much screwed right now =

mushaboom: holy cruuuud. I sure hope I can get into McCormick…

I have a question…As an engineering major, would I be able to get into the engineering dorms?
Unless I can get on campus housing, I can’t go to Rutgers. I’m a transfer from South Jersey and I don’t know anyone up there :/

Scorpio, my son is a transfer junior this year. He was placed on Livingston with all the other transfers. All his classes are on Busch, but it hasn’t been a problem for him at all. (He is an Engineering major.)
