Housing Notification

lawgirl: I’ve had NO problem meeting cool people in my classes

For all of the transfer students looking for housing: I’m also a transfer who was left without housing, but now I’m fine because I found this great place called Eta Beta Student Residence.

It’s really similar to dormitory housing, and it’s less than a block from campus (it’s like living on campus.) They offer doubles and triples for $459-$544 a month. This price includes utilities and furniture. There are still a couple of rooms left, I think. Both guys and girls can live there (girls live on the second floor, and guys live on the third floor.)

I looked at a bunch of houses before checking out Eta Beta, and Eta Beta just blew them out of the water. The houses were disgusting and dirty, but Eta Beta was super clean - they have a professional cleaning service come in twice a week. They also have a great social atmosphere; there is a dining area, a common area, and a TV/video game room for people to hang out at. They also have barbeques and other get-togethers for all of the residents.

They also offer continental breakfast during school days from 7:00am-9:00am, if anyone’s interested in that.

Anyway, I hate to sound like I’m advertising, but I just wanted to let everyone know about this. As a transfer student who was freaking out about housing a couple of days ago, I’m so glad I found it, and I want to make sure other transfer students are aware of it as well. Every other place I looked at was horrible, but this is great. It’s closer to campus, cleaner, and friendlier. I’m so glad I found it.

If you want to learn more, here is the website: [Eta Beta Student Residence](http://etabetastudentresidence.com/default.aspx). If you end up going, I’d appreciate if you told them that Kayley sent you. But I’m fine with it even if you don’t mention me. My main goal in posting is simply to let other transfer students know about the place, because it’s solved all of my housing problems, and I want to help other students who are also having housing problems. Discovering Eta Beta Student Residence has been a blessing for me and I’m sure it can help others out too.

When is the move in date for Eta Beta? Or is there one?

@ Meesh: The move-in date is September 23, which is perfect for me because I can keep my job at home longer, yet it still gives me enough time to settle in before the school year starts.

Still no room assignment, such a bummer. The messages keep getting briefer. I don’t think they made any progress this week

Did you check your UW email? I was informed in the beginning of august that they don’t have any space, and they sent me a confirmation again last week saying there is definitely no way I can get assigned this fall. You shouldn’t keep your hopes up and start calling them to see what happens
