how is hedrick summit? i will be a freshman. when i logged in to ursa, it said i was offered hedrick summit

I hope you like walking. It's the housing that's farthest from the main campus.

Otherwise? Summit is very nicely furnished. You're gonna be living in nearly brand new housing; it just opened in Fall 2006.

congrats! it's the best dorm cuz i'm living there next year too :)
jkjkjk.

anyways, like jinobi said, it IS brand new (along with rieber vista and terrace). it shares a dining hall with hedrick hall.
and it IS the furthest walk from campus (up hill!) but think of it this way:
no freshman 15 for you!

i got reiber hall! good or bad?

Rieber Hall is good. It is located at the center of the residential hill, and it has nice dining facilities. The hallway style room arrangement also allows plenty of opportunity to meet people.

Hedrick may be a slightly farther walk from campus, but that isn't always a bad thing, because it is also farther from some of the noise and congestion further down the hill.

Hey I got Sunset Village. Its a Plaza... is that bad?

Which part of sunset? Canyon Point is pretty roomy compared to the others. Granted, my opinion of Courtside and Delta come from simply entering two rooms and noticing how the arrangement was cramped compared to my room.

Plaza = quiet, not as sociable, roomy.

Where do you find this information?

just by living here, and invading other people's rooms? xD
if you're coming here next year, go here http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=7120064a9a7d1010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD
and click on the type of housing you'll be in. you can see a typical room as well as read about your specific housing complex.
if you want building floorplans/dorm maps, go here http://www.housing.ucla.edu/maps/och-map.htm

Lol I mean, how do you find out where you got placed? ^^

How's dykstra hall? I searched past threads and the info i've gotten is kind of.. not very reassuring, hahaha.

also, my housing offer page gives me three options - "NO THANKS", "REJECT OFFER" and "process selected meal plan and housing blah blah."
So like what's the difference btwn the 'no thanks' and 'reject offer'? will i get put into a different hall?

anyone know what Hedrick Hall (not summit) is like other than it being further away? How are the dorms?

go look around on the housing website.
the "how are the dorms" questions (times 10,000,000) are so vague... everyone has different opinions of what they like, and if you're looking for comparisions between the dorms, the housing website has them.
www.housing.ucla.edu
follow the links for first year housing, etc.
please! ;)

my friend said you can check by going onto myhousing and viewing the initial payment... to see your dorm.

How's DeNeve?

Social, close to classes, andddddddddd dont know much else other than that!

heins - Same here, I'm stuck at Dykstra, and the other threads really don't make it sound promising.

de neve is very nice :)
i live in birch. some of the rooms are right by the frats (ick) but most are far enough away.
acacia/birch get more fire alarms from the dining hall then the other buildings, but we have bigger lounges and laundry machines on each floor (not grouped in the basement).
that said, our laundry machines only take quarters >.<
(cedar through fir also take bruincard)
we're closest to campus, which is nice, but furthest from anything else on the hill so i pretty much always eat in de neve instead of walking uphill for dinner xD
and the rooms are really big. private bath can either be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how long your roomies take to shower...

It has me down as Hedrick hall, but I can't seem to find much info on if thats a good or bad thing(Yes I searched).

I got Hedrick Summit....can anyone tell me more about it? Is it a newer building and is it close to the dining areas?
