grayster33 - I could only find the floor plan in the UCLA housing page...
couldn't find photo of it..and there is no tour...so......
Im still thinking if i should accept it....

You need to accept if you want housing, and from there you can go on and appeal for something different if you want (canceling altogether will cost ~100$).

I got GLENROCK WEST apartments. Any thoughts?

blackiris - yeah, i don't think i'm going to accept it because i can't find out any information on it. Also, i talked to a friend who lives in one of the two glenrock complexes (not Glenrock West) and she is not too enthusiastic about it. Looks like i'll have to find an add on craigslist or marketplace. :/

grayster33- why don't you accept it and request a change instead of not accepting it because if you don't accept you don't get housing at all and run the risk of not finding a place to live...

I'm an incoming transfer and got accepted into the landfair apartments. I would rather live in the dorms. Should I accept the offer and then choose CAR or reject? If I reject then I may not get housing even though I'm an incoming transfer?

Is there a date that we find out our room mates? If we don't get along with our room mates what options do we have?

you find out roommates in mid august. or, mid august but really late august, if it's like last year

if you don't get along, you'd meet with your RA to work things out. if things don't work out, your RA might go to the higher powers-that-be for assistance. if THAT doesn't work out, because let's say there's a roommate who is consistently breaking rules, or your two roommates are always picking fights with each other and trying to drag you into it (as happened to a friend of mine), then the offending roommate(s) might get placed on a behavior contract. my friend's roommates had 2 weeks to get their act together or one of them would be removed from the room.

if it's just a compatibility issue, then the first course of action is to try to work around each other. if it's really bad, you can either do an informal room swap (which i considered earlier this year... but was too lazy) or try for a change of assignment. you really have to be your own advocate, however. and minor issues with roommates are not grounds for changing rooms- some things you're just going to have to accept.

best advice i can give is to figure out what is important to you (lights out hours, music level, phone protocol) and STAND YOUR GROUND! stand up for your rights. don't be a b!tch about it, but don't let your roommates walk all over you. chances are they won't be aware of what they're doing. i wish i had been a better advocate for myself... oh well i start moving out tomorrow can't wait :D

crap, i just hope that i can beat my roommate in a fight then.

did you make a separate parking application?

I'm in Landfair too; it's some type of an architectual landmark in LA. If you google Landfair Apartments, you'll come up with a picture. It's been around for awhile, since the 30's.
