Housing options for a student looking to transfer

<p>I'm a current freshman at Cal, and I'm looking to transfer to another university next year. I've already applied and I'm waiting for my decision, which could take up to a month to update. Now I'm looking for suggestions for what to do about housing next year. One of my friends wants to get an apartment with me but I can't keep her waiting around until I get my decision while all the apartments are being taken up, and I don't want to make any commitments if I am not sure that I will be returning next fall. However, I don't want to be in the situation where I end up staying at Cal with nowhere to live. What are my options? Any suggestions?</p>

<p>When does your transfer decision come out? Apartments are not taken up as quickly as you’d think.</p>

<p>I’m not sure how early you have to look for the “good” apartments, but there are definitely apartment available in April, May and even June. I found mine in June and moved in July</p>
