I am an incoming Freshman enrolling in the College of Arts and Sciences, and was also admitted into the honors program.

Should I go for honors housing or not? Are there significant advantages in the honors dorms as compared to the regular dorms?

I'm also not too sure which campus to live on. I've narrowed it down to Busch and College Ave. If I live on College Ave, my choice would be to live on Brett in the honors dorms. On Busch, I would have to choose between honors McCormick Suites or regular dorms. I'd like to hear anyone's take on suites versus regular dorms. Which is better?

I'm in the honors program, so I'll offer my 2 cents.

1) The Honors housing option is Brett Hall. It is a nice building (good lounge, friendly people, quiet study lounge, etc.). I would recommend it since you will be around people of your intelligence level and it will help.

2) College Ave (from my opinion) is more social. Busch has a lot of science buildings so do consider living there if you want to major in the sciences (though it doesn't really matter since the bus system is great). Busch has better food, but is known for being mostly Asian. College ave is the party scene. My choice for you: college ave.

I plan on doing something business related, so no I won't be taking a lot of science courses in Busch. And yeah, I've def heard that Busch is known for many Asians. How's the diversity at College Ave? Probably safe to assume it's less than that of Busch, but still diverse regardless?

Also, would you recommend a suite as opposed to regular dorms? Easier/harder to make friends..?

College Ave has diversity, but there are fewer Asians than Busch. I can't say much about the suites since I lived in a double, but wherever you dorm, you will have no problem making friends. If you live in Brett, you will def. make a lot of friends. A suite might be harder to make friends in since you will know about 4-6 people and might just make that into a small circle (just my opinion).

I was thinking along the same lines with suites. I would think it'd be harder to make friends since you're typically around the same small group rather than a large group. Then again, I could be wrong.

As for Brett, how are the distractions? From what I've heard, it's one of the top party campuses, but at the same it is good for studying as well...?

Yes, there are a lot of distractions at Brett. Sometimes, it gets hard to study in your room because people are loud and make noise and what not. They do have an amazing study lounge though everyone stays quiet and it's easy to study. The library is also a block away more or less.
