housing parking permit

I wanted to ask about parking too.
So im a freshman and i got a parking permit but i think its a housing permit
and on the sheet it says i can only park at the three residential hall parking lots

does it mean I cannot park any elsewhere on campus??
the other day i was close to late to my class, walking would have been 10 min and i wanted to just drive there i know there was a parking lot nearby
I ended up not and just ran there, but would I have gotten into trouble and a ticket for parking at lots im not allowed to park in?

I mean its only an hour of class would somebody really notice?

and some lots requires u scanning your ID card, i have never tried it before but would it even work at lots that needs scanning?

Thanks and please dont troll me and tell me i can so I can get a ticket...

If you have a housing permit you can only park in those housing lots, unless it is after 4 PM Monday-Friday or all day on the weekends. Then you can park in lots 26, 30, 50, etc.

And yes they will notice if you park where you are not supposed to. TAPS knows everything. I’ve parked in pay-by-spaces before and was about three minutes late and I still got a ticket.

Those scanning things are for people with certain parking privileges. Only those people are allowed to drive into those lots (for example: right near MSE/the HUB is lot 19, you need a special parking pass for that).
