Housing Payment Option for people who need financial aid

What payment plan am I supposed to pick... Financial Aid? or Quarterly?
Like they say Plan G is supposed to show up on your Housing offer? what does this mean?
on my ePAL it says I should get it, but Im not sure
Any response would be helpful...Thanks

Yes, you should select Plan G (Financial Aid) for housing. However, you may have to wait until you get your EFAN and accept all your awards before you can select this option.

when are we supposed to get our efan then ? I should also be able to receive financial aid, but when i try selecting financial aid as my payment, an error message pops up telling me I am not eligible for it.

Truth be told, I don’t remember when incoming students receive their EFANs (it’s been 5 years since I was an incoming student…)

haha oh wow a very long time indeed. What do you do now ? grad school ?

yea, but the problem is that the eFAN comes out somewhere around june-july I think but the housing offer must be accepted by the 26th of may -_- so confused, I think ima do what you said though pick financial aid, because I need this money or I cant afford to attend.

Plan G is based on your EPAL…so if it does not work…you must not be receiving much aid.

If you have enough money, you can pick whatever is comfortable with you. Plan G just defers your payment until the school year (If I can remember correctly because I did this too). All plans pay the same amount, but the difference is just WHEN you pay it. Since Plan G defers your initial payment till the school year but makes your quarterly payments higher.

The quarterly payments and monthly plan are what they say. Pay quarterly and monthly. In the end, I had enough money (as in making the initial payment wouldnt bankrupt me), so I just chose quarterly normal payments (I had to argue to get Plan G but by the time I got it, I did not really care to use it).

CalBear,

I’m currently in my first year of grad school at UC Irvine for a PhD in Chemistry. Which is why I don’t post too often…

And yes, like Altema posted, the main difference btwn Plan G and Quarterly/Monthly is that it defers your initial payment to closer to when the school year starts AND spreads it out a little more among the quarters. I remember only have to pay an initial payment of $400 before the start of each school year for housing on plan G.
