Housing price big question

So I got the financial aid packet and it said that 13, 226 is budgeted for housing and a meal plan.

So do the prices of all the dorms on this page include a meal plan in the price per year/semester or not?

<a href="http://www.nyu.edu/housing/pdfs/2009_2010Urates.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.nyu.edu/housing/pdfs/2009_2010Urates.pdf</a></p>

If they do not, wont that mean that most housing unless u do lo cost will will cost u way more then 13226?

It’s not the housing that is costing you more, it’s the meal plan. NYU charges you for the room AND for the minimum meal plan that goes with that room. You can then increase your meal plan, but you cannot decrease it below the minimum for the building. If you are in a building without a mandatory meal plan, then you just opt out and they remove the charge from your account.

On that PDF, the prices don’t include a meal plan, so just add on whatever minimum amount the meal plan is and that’ll be the housing/meal plan rate for that room.
