Hi Guys, I'm a prospective student (Transfer) really wanting to go to UCR, and I was just wondering how hard is it to get a dorm for a transfer . I know they dont realease decsions for transfers untill march 1 and the housing garuntee is around May 10 but I would really like to dorm. I wouldnt mind any really, Pentland is cool but i really want to experience that dorm life. Do they usually fill up with freshman? I dont mind freshman really i mean people are people to me. Any of you old transfers on here dormed? Would really like any info! Thanks

cmon guys any info would be superbly helpful!

There are transfer halls in the dorms reserved just for transfers. You should probably be able to get in since people move in/out of the transfer halls all the time.

Yup, as 42327119 mentioned, there’s a transfer hall in Pentland reserved for transfer students. If you meet the Housing deadlines, you’ll receive housing somewhere on campus as part of the Housing guarantee for incoming students.

One of my friends dormed in the Pentland transfer hall last year and said there weren’t a ton of other transfer students there, simply because a lot of transfers either choose the campus apartments or live off campus. But you’ll still have access to residential programming and you’ll be in contact with plenty of other people, so you’ll still get that dorm experience.
