Housing proximity to classes

Where is freshmen housing? How hard is it to get to classes and if a student has late hour rehearsals in the theater department how safe is it to get back and forth?

Your questions are pretty general. Which campus are you living on? What campus are your (late) classes on?

It is pretty safe if you are travelling between classes. The police reports that get sent out usually involve someone being out at 3am in a deserted area.

You can request an escort if needed:

Escorts
Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) provides escorts to students, faculty, and staff upon request. The escorts, primarily walking, provide our community with personalized service to their vehicles, campus residence, or the University’s mass transit system. To view mass transit hours please visit the Rutgers Department of Transportation.

To Request an Escort
Call 732-932-7211 or use a campus emergency phone (blue light)
The RUPD Communication and Dispatch Center will send a public safety representative to escort you
Escorts may not be “reserved” in advance

If she has classes on the douglass campus/ Theater major …will her classes be only on that campus?

Different classes may be on different campuses, regardless of where the student lives.

that said, D1 is in SEBS and only had classes off Cook/Douglas first semester freshman year. You can manage your schedule.

Actually it’s probably easiest to get classes on Cook/Douglass because no one else wants to travel out there (Busch, Livi, even College Ave).

If her classes are all available on C/D she shouldn’t have a problem getting into them.
