Housing Q!! - Balch or Coed???

Hi, I have to submit my housing application today and I've been undecided about putting my first choice for all girls or coed - Originally, I was opposed to living in an all girls' dorm but then I visited Cornell and was really impressed with Balch, its architecture, the size of its rooms, its cleanliness...I mean, it was really pretty and I fell in love with it. But now, I've changed my mind again and now I feel that if I lived in a co-ed dorm, things might not be as clean or as pretty, but it would be a lot more fun. I've heard that Balch can be anti-social and doesn't really have a party scene whereas at co-ed dorms it'd be easier to meet new people as a freshman at the parties they have there.

I can't decide haha - Balch is gorgeous and clean but co-ed dorms seem more fun and easier to make friends in. Can anyone help me out?

i second this request!

I heard that Balch can be social because of all of the trips they take and activites that are there are at the Carol Center right there. About the parties- we’re all dorming pretty close to each other so I guess you can always come to them and hang out at Donlon or wherever because you are probably going to have a lot of friends in other dorms. I hope my advice helps you! ;)

I loved Balch for the same reasons you did when I saw it too. I hope I get housed there.
