Housing Question...

I will be in Fisher this fall. I was wondering what exactly the room will be equipt with when I first walk into it on move in day?? Is it just a bed and that is entirely it?

Also, does the room have free cable? internet? Do a lot of people bring TVs?

Thanks

I know that all Penn houses should have access to both wireless and wired internet. I have also been told that unless your dorm contains a private kitchen, microwave and refrigerator are not included. I do not believe TV is included and I think a lot of people bring TVs.

Your housing assignment should have a section telling you what’s in your room. (Mine did.)

LOL waiting for more people to back this up.

Hopefully you’ve also hooked up with your FB group and with your roommate. Google.

S was in a Fisher double freshman year. It was considered large for Penn. For each person, room had a bed (platform with two large drawers underneath), desk, chair and armoire/wardrobe (drawers on the bottom). There shelves (kind of high up) mounted on the wall. The boys brought one refrigerator and his roommate had a small (really narrow) shelf unit that doubled as a night table. There wouldn’t have been room for any other furniture. I can’t recall the wired/wireless situation but there was free internet access. Also free cable TV (the boys brought the TV) and someone came to set up the internet and TV, and provided cables.

Bring a desk lamp and probably a floor lamp. Bring surge protectors. Bring an over-the-door hook or rack to hang on the room door and/or your wardrobe door to hang your towel and perhaps a jacket.
