I am an incoming freshman and am really hoping to live in East halls. However, I'm not 100 percent positive about Penn State and if I do will most likely be accepting my offer in mid-march..will that make my chances of living in East worse? Is it first come first serve or a lottery style? I dont want to rush my decision but I dont want to lose my shot at rooming in East! Help:(

From my understanding the majority of freshman live in east and that most likely you will live there. Especially if you want too and regardless of how late you accept. It is not like you are trying to live in west.

That’s not true. While East is all freshmen, it can not accomodate all the incoming freshmen. Some freshman go to Pollack, South and West. It is on a first-come first-serve basis. My son accepted last year in February, and he got into East. Good luck!

My D also accepted in February last year and had East as her first choice, Pollock as her second. She got Pollock. Although, as I said on another housing thread, she feels lucky to have gotten Pollock. It’s in a great location and there are plenty of freshman. Her building is all freshman. You can eat at South or Pollock and easily walk everywhere.
