<p>I was perusing the housing site at UM and it seems like all the traditional dorms are single sex. Is that correct? My son will likely qualify for the honors college but does not want to live in honors dorms. But, I'm pretty certain he doesn't want to live in a single sex dorm either...</p>
<p>@bigdaddy88 It’s actually a legal issue that residence halls at MS institutions must be single sex. Some of our halls have both male and female students living in them, but they are in separate sections of the halls. Ole Miss doesn’t have male and female students living on the same floors or in the same rooms together. I would actually encourage him to strongly look at the Honors floors or one of the contemporary halls on campus.</p>
<p>Thanks CG. He’s dead set against living in the honors dorms in college. He is in all honors and AP classes in HS, but the vast majority of his friends and teammates are not. He’s a very regular kid in all aspects of life except academically. He just doesn’t fit in with the typical honors student. He thinks all honors kids are similar to his classmates. </p>
