How fast does housing fill up? I am looking to live in a two person room in j&h but do not have a roommate yet. Should i sign up for a room even though I haven’t found one yet? Just in case? Can I always switch it? Need help.
Housing fills up fast. Do you have a time slot yet? Just pick something or you will end up with nothing. You only can sign up for a bed space, someone else will pick the other bed in the room if you don’t have someone to pull in. @acceptmeplz123
How do you get a time slot, @jnkam24 ? All we know is that the housing selection process opens at 10:00 am on March 3. What happens when housing selection opens?
Did you pay your deposit and fill do the housing contract?
After you do you will be assigned a date and time to go online and pick your bed.
@jnkam24 I paid my deposit and filled out the contracts for housing. How did you get the time slot?
So what you’re saying is that I should pick a room no matter whether I have a roommate or not? How risky is it to go random?
Yes. If you don’t have a roommate you need to pick a bed or you will have nothing. Housing is not guaranteed and fills up. Random is fine if you haven’t found anyone. Did you pay your deposit yet?
@jnkam24 yes i paid my deposit and my housing. i filled out stage 2 (housing and dining contract) and stage 3 (emergency contacts) in the myhousing but i haven’t gotten anything about a date and time window for picking a room?
and I want to live in hardwick
Then you should be good when housing opens. Did you try to find a roommate on RoomSync?
Yeah, I also paid the deposit and completed the housing contract, and nothing about a time slot. So I presume we’re all just good to go when housing selection opens next Saturday.
@acceptmeplz123 Can I ask why you’re specifically choosing Hardwick? My understanding is Johnson and Hardwick are basically the same set-up in the same location. Is there some difference I don’t know about? Just curious. I do have some friends living in those dorms that I plan to check in with this week, but trying to learn what I can on my own.
Yes I have, and I have been talking to people, but i just don’t know how to ask someone and/or if they’re the right person. but on the ther hand im nervous about random @jnkam24
@Junior3 I see much of a difference between the two, but I chose hardwick bc Johnson is on the side of the construction from peabody so I assumed that might be quieter/nicer. I stayed overnight in Johnson and it didn’t seem too bad but if I get to pick im going to choose hardwick
^^^ meant to say i do not see much of a difference
