Housing Question

Hey, I was wondering if applying for housing requires you to accept the housing assignment. In other words, If I end wanting to get an apartment with friends in the next month, can I decline my housing assignment? Thank you

when you accept your housing contract, you have to pay a deposit, I think it is like $300 bucks. If you cancel and want to get an apartment or something, you can, but you loose the 300, and you may be assessed a penalty as well.

If you APPLY only, you pay the $30 fee and wait for them to tell you what they want to assign you. From there, you can appeal (rarely does any good from what I've heard), deny (which is basically just not responding to the offer within the week or so they give you) or you can accept a housing contract and put down the $300 Smallz mentions.

With the application, you are not obligated to accept what they offer you. With the housing contract, you are but they won't do anything much more than what Smallz says. They keep the $30 application fee either way.
