Housing question

I’m a prospective student and I have a question about housing.
I don’t want to have a roommate. If admitted as a freshman am I guaranteed a dorm of my choice–single dorm. If not, is it hard to get one.

Singles are more expensive and not available in every building. The kids I know who requested singles got them. When you fill out your housing request form just be sure to study the dorm configurations available on my.ucdavis.edu first. Make sure what you request is consistent with what is available and you should have a good shot at getting a single.

the only thing you are guaranteed for housing is a room.

I got a single in Segundo. I had a medical reason, though, clearly stated in the housing application.

you can try off campus? Cheaper... and get a meal plan .

I got a single no problem and without any specific medical reason. All I did was request it on the housing application. Good luck!

quite frankly though, roomates are not so bad....

I went from living in a large room with my own bathroom, shower, sinks and a walk in closet at home.... to a triple ridiculously small room I have to share with 2 other strangers and honestly, its not so bad. You can talk to your roomates when your bored, you always have someone to go to dinner with, etc...

Its not that bad after all its just school.

I forgot to mention that my roomates are 2 little asians that wont talk unless questioned. No parties but I am very thankful during finals week.

Singles are not bad either. I do all of those things with floormates.
