How is housing assigned? i know it has to do something with how many credit hours you have. So say i have 40+ going in as a freshman. what are my chances of getting into somewhere like Lakeside or Beaty? Do you get to choose who you room with if you get in?

dude lakeside is a good 800 meters away from campus u dont want to stay there

the center of campus

Your housing is assigned according to when you paid your housing application fee. Those who paid first are highest on the list. My son is currently a freshman and he - and any other current UF students who wish to live in campus housing -requested his room for his sophomore year last month. Freshman have to make do with whatever is left after current students sign up for housing. UF does not count any hours a freshman brings in from high school towards housing. Freshman have to pay the fee and get on the list. Only returning UF sophmores, Jr & Sr get priority housing registration. By the way UF only counts UF credit hours for other things such as parking, football lottery, etc. Your HS, CC or transfer hours help academically but not for campus life issues.

Unless things have recently changed, there is a credit requirement for Keys.

Returning students do get priority and can actually pick the exact room that they want to live in the following year. However, not everyone can continue to live on campus they only allot a certain about of rooms spaces for returning students. If there are more requesting than spaces available, then they will have a lottery to see who is can return for another year.
