Housing Question

I really don't want to be in Thurston because I get distracted from studying SO easily (it's just not the right atmosphere), but I don't want to be in Mt Vernon either. Could I just put Potomac, Madison, and Crawford on my housing application? Can they stick me in the Vern or Thurston just because there's nowhere else?

it’s a gamble, and there is not much control over it. The best you can do os not signing for Thurston at all if that is a choice_since I had heard someone said that now they are kind of forcing you to decide on a theme, but I am not sure of that.
Just pray.

Question…I’m a student who was accepted early decision and have enrolled. I know ED students are supposed to receive priority housing, but I haven’t received anything the mail/email yet. Has anybody else?

Is it better to complete your housing portal early to secure good dorm rooms?(for Regular Decision students)

shashushmom: You didn’t get an email from GW encouraging/reminding you to apply for housing? I did, twice - that’s weird. Yes, ED students get priority in housing (I’m so jealous, btw!). But it may be that GW waits for everyone to finish up their housing application by May 14th and then it starts on the priority lists EDI, EDII, RD.

Kailey: From what I was told when I called, nothing is secure and a lot is like a game. I’d think that us RD kids depend on what’s left for dorms. Do your housing application as soon as you can; within the RD pool, they may take into consideration the date you submit yours for getting the “good dorm rooms”.
